Bromocriptine in Acromegaly In normal subjects, dopamine agonists raise GH levels but, paradoxically, lower them in acromegalics (Fig. 3.29). Bromocriptine, a dopamine agonist, suppresses GH levels in about seventy per cent of acromegalics, but only rarely are GH levels reduced to normal. Doses of 10-60mg per day, in four divided doses, are used.
